About

Julie Austad was raised in the snowiest town in the United States, Valdez, Alaska. She spent her summers watching glaciers calve and gorging on tiger shrimp. After reading a lot of books in college, she married her best friend and they moved to Noheji, Japan. There she taught English, learned a bit about Sado, and wrote a blog about their experiences. She moved to Portland, Oregon and earned her Master in Library Science degree from the School of Library and Information Science, of Emporia State University.

Now she a librarian for Clark College Libraries.

At home she is tormented by two furry felines but is also fed delicious dinners by her favorite neighborhood friends and her husband.
